Klio terms of service
These terms govern access to Klio. By creating an account or using the service, the account owner agrees to them and confirms they are legally able to act for the family workspace.
What Klio provides
Klio is a homeschool planning, evidence, learning-support, and recordkeeping service. It can organize information, generate material, suggest next steps, and carry out actions within the autonomy settings selected by the family. Features may change as the service improves.
The parent remains responsible
Klio is an aid, not a school, teacher of record, legal adviser, medical provider, or guarantee of compliance with homeschool law. The account owner remains responsible for instruction, supervision, official academic decisions, required notices, attendance, transcripts, testing, and verifying that records meet local requirements.
Account and family data
The account owner must provide accurate information, protect sign-in credentials, and only invite collaborators who are authorized to access learner information. The owner is responsible for activity performed through the account and for the content added to the workspace. Do not upload material that is unlawful, harmful, or that the family has no right to use.
AI output and records
Generated content can be incomplete or wrong and must be reviewed in light of the learner and the family’s goals. Routine actions may run automatically when settings allow; the activity trail and undo controls are part of that workflow. Official inferred grades, major schedule changes, and curriculum direction remain subject to the parent boundaries shown in the service.
Subscriptions and cancellation
Paid plans renew at the price and interval shown at checkout until cancelled. Billing can be managed through the Stripe portal. A portal cancellation normally takes effect as shown there. Permanently deleting the owner account cancels active Klio subscriptions for every workspace that account currently owns and ends access to those workspaces immediately. Except where law requires otherwise, fees already charged are not automatically refunded because an account is deleted or the service was unused.
Acceptable use
Do not attempt to access another family’s data, bypass security or usage limits, disrupt the service, introduce malicious code, scrape the service, resell access without permission, or use Klio to violate another person’s rights. Klio may restrict access needed to protect families, providers, or the service.
Availability and responsibility
Klio is provided on an “as available” basis. Reasonable care is used to operate and protect the service, but uninterrupted availability and error-free output cannot be promised. To the extent permitted by law, Klio is not responsible for indirect or consequential losses or for decisions made without independently reviewing generated output. Rights that cannot legally be limited remain unaffected.
Ending use
The owner can download one complete account export covering every currently owned workspace before deleting the account in Account & files. Account deletion permanently removes all of those owned workspaces; a workspace the person no longer owns stays intact with sign-in and profile identity removed and only opaque provenance retained where record integrity requires it. Klio may suspend or end access for material breaches, security threats, nonpayment, or unlawful use, with notice when reasonably possible. Provisions that by their nature should continue—such as payment obligations, ownership, disclaimers, and limits of responsibility—survive termination.
Changes and contact
Klio may update these terms as the service or law changes. Material changes will be identified by a new effective date and communicated in the service when appropriate. Continued use after the stated effective date accepts the revised terms. Questions can be sent through the Klio support contact supplied with the subscription. Read the Privacy notice to understand how information is handled.
